QADR: Blonde

Quick and Dirty Review of “Blonde”

“Blonde” is ostensibly a movie about Marilyn Monroe. You find this out because they use her name and likeness and also call her “Norma Jean” and include aspects of a real person’s life in the movie. But it’s a slog of the worst type, one where the “filmmaker” tortures the main character for two hours.

You’re supposed to feel sorry for Norma Jean, obviously, but the viewer shouldn’t be looking forward to the end of this film — we all know how her life ends — just so the film will all be over. 2 out of 10 for the nonsensical storytelling, bad editing and outright character assassination. Ana de Armas is the only good thing in this movie and I felt sorry for her.
