There's a pile of crazy in my head,

wandering around and peeking out through the cracks. I'm not really happy about it. And not all of the stories and notions in there make sense, and not all of them are for others to see. But sometimes, the germ of an idea combines with ten other things, coming together nicely, and making it out of my head and down onto paper.

I'd like to say I craft perfect, dramatic, engaging stories fully formed, like Athena emerging, fully grown and shield in hand, from the head of Zeus. The truth? It's all about iterations—write it down, get it out of my head and down on paper. Let it sit, ponder it, roll it around in my head for a month or a decade. Work on something else for a while. Come back and see how it feels, how it can be better. And maybe, if I like it enough, let it out to play. Let me know what you think.
