In 2005, the Downtown Tipp City Partnership was formed in the basement of the local library by a group of interested business owners, citizens, and local government officials to begin the implementation of aspects of a DART report produced by Heritage Ohio.
I was one of the founding members of this organization, which has grown over the past five years into a thriving non-profit organization with over 100 members. The DTCP has initiated over a dozen innovative programs, events and partnerships to preserve the charm of downtown Tipp City while maintaining growth and attracting and retaining businesses.
Many people work hard to make the Downtown Tipp City Partnership a great success. The Partnership Board of Directors consists of nine seats, with representatives from City Council, City Government, Tipp Monroe Community Services, the Tipp Chamber, the Tipp Library, local business owners and residents. We bring diverse groups and individuals together and make things happen in the downtown.

The Tippecanoe Farmers’ Market is an effort to bring local and regional growers and vendors to a small, volunteer-run farmers’ market in the historic downtown shopping district of Tipp City. Located in downtown Tipp City, Ohio on Third St. between Main and Dow, the Market will be open on Saturdays, June 12th through September 18th, from 9 am to 12:30 pm. Established in 2007 by Reed Spencer and Greg Enslen, this popular outdoor market is entering its fourth year in operation.

Reed Spencer and I were sitting around one day, bored, and we thought “hey, let’s start a vintage baseball team!” Actually, he and I started talking about this project back in 2006, but it took three years of work and research to pull together the first game, which was held at the Willowtree Inn in August of 2009. After a great response from the locals, we brought it back for 2010 and expanded the season to fourteen “matches” against other regional vintage baseball teams.
